Interview With The Amazingly Wonderful Mareike Miller
What's your main message that you try to get across to women who train? And indeed women in general.

Let yourself be motivated not because you hate yourself or your body, but because you love and respect yourself and are fascinated by all the incredible things your body can do. Focus on performance, and look for and celebrate the win in every training session you do. They are always there! Also, stop judging yourself by how you look. It's just a body. Like I say to my clients; it's not a deformity, it's just body fat. You can change it if you really want to. Stop giving it more power than it deserves.

Make Up For Stage - Figure and Sports Model

Ladies, your stage make-up is super important to round out your 'stage presentation'. Don't make the mistake of applying makeup for stage incorrectly! It can hinder your chances of placing well if the competition is tight. If you follow some general guidelines you can take on the task of applying your own makeup without looking like you had an accident at the makeup counter.

The First Step to Quitting the Deprive-Then-Binge Cycle

I make it a habit to ask people who sign up for my newsletter what their #1 struggle is with nutrition, exercise, mindset, etc. This is important for me because it gives me insight into what Team BC clients are working to improve and how I can help. The answer I get the most is this:
I want to find balance with my eating and exercise. I feel like I am caught up in the all-or-nothing pattern of doing really well during the week and then blowing it all on the weekend, just to start the cycle again the next week.

How to live a more valued life

We can try to control the uncontrollable by looking for security and predictability, always hoping to be comfortable and be safe. The truth is though, is that we can NEVER avoid stress, uncertainty and fear. So the central question is not how we avoid uncertainty and stress, but how we relate to discomfort.

How do we live day to day with difficulty, with our emotions, with the unpredictable encounters of an ordinary day? When we doubt that we're up to it, we can ask ourselves this question: "Do I prefer to grow up and relate to life directly, or di I choose to live and die in fear?

Sit back for a minute and think about adding muscle to your frame in chicken breasts. You have to work damned hard and super heavy to add on two chicken breasts in a year!!! Of pure muscle.

Interview With Upcoming Superstar Amanda Laurie
I remember waiting back stage for the Overalls thinking maybe I should just leave early, I'm a novice and really shouldn't be up on stage with those more seasoned competitor's. I actually think that because I didn't think at that stage I had a chance of winning I went out on stage more relaxed and enjoyed the experience more.

How To Deal With Crabs, Haters and Vampires!

As this ambitious crab was hoisting himself up to make a run for freedom, several other crabs from the bottom methodically reached up, grabbed its remaining legs and pull him back down to the bottom.

Then the fisherman turned to me and said that crabs by nature self police each other and so a lid is never required on the bucket.

I'm not much of a cook and I try to follow "clean eating" pretty much all the time. I don't have the time or the inclination to spend hours cooking, do you have any kitchen tips to make eating healthy easy?

3 Key Points for Setting Appropriate Goals at Body Conquest

3 Key Points for Setting Appropriate Goals at Body Conquest
1) How YOU define the importance of a goal will dictate whether YOU will commit to it.

You and your coach need to define or redefine your goals in association with how 'workable' they are. Naturally throughout the process of working towards these goals- you will experience discomfort (boredom, anxiety, stress, frustration, sadness, fatigue and pain) – it will be up to you to be willing to experience these normal uncomfortable emotions (which typically get in the way of SMART goals) and still commit to what is actually important.

I don't prescribe a certain amount or type of cardio for comp prep without a reason. Body part splits, choices of exercises, order of exercises, number of sets, repetition range, frequency of training all depend on each of my client's individual variables. If the client is doing their very own thing, and NOT what I prescribe then any decision I make thereon is erroneous.

In Brooke's Words
Confession time: Ok, so last Saturday evening I went completely off plan, off the rails and had about 5 times my daily calorie intake in the space of about 7 hours. It was a fantastic effort in self-sabotage. And then unfortunately I backed it up four days ago with another fine effort.
