Consistency- The KEY word at Body Conquest
CONSISTENCY.

I always get asked "Ingrid what is the most successful way to achieve my goals? My ultimate, favourite word is the word consistency. Doing the same thing day in, day out. Nutritional intake nailed, supplement correctly, train, rest, de-stress, sleep and drink lots of water. And repeat.

Cardio Before Or After Weight Training

I would never, ever encourage BC clients to do their cardio before their weight training session!

"Serious" Personal Training

on Wednesday, 28 November 2012. Posted in All

I'm very aware that the message we give off at Geelong's Personal Training centre "Body Conquest is one that screams "serious personal training". This may be off putting to some but it shouldn't be.. Yes I want BC to be successful and I also want to bring the concept of serious personal training to as many people as possible because the message that we send are ones that I fundamentally believe in and I am fed up with the BS that is rife in certain sections of the fitness industry.

WOMENS ACCIDENTAL SUPER-FREAKISM CONSPIRACY

on Saturday, 24 November 2012. Posted in All

Dr. Head explains that somehow these women's bodies begin synthesizing new protein at biologically impossible rates resulting in their super-human levels of muscle mass. Simultaneously their entire store of subcutaneous fat is lost. Literally hundreds of thousands of calories of energy are consumed over night, while tens of kilos of protein is somehow constructed out of thin air.

Do You Want The Perferct Body?

Do You Want The Perferct Body?

The Body Conquest team want you to follow your dreams and do everything you ever wanted, including a show, a photo shoot or even working to get your pro card if that's what you love. I have met plenty of women who simply love the process of prepping for shows (and they are happy doing it). But if you are using it as a weight loss tool, to prove something to someone else or as I was, as a way to garner affirmation, I encourage you to uncover the real "why?" Go deeper with it. Let it be about you, and your journey, your purpose. Only then, can you jump into the process for the long haul and create something bigger and more meaningful for yourself.

Rachaels Story

on Saturday, 24 November 2012. Posted in All

12 weeks ago today, I walked into Body Conquest for my third "attempt" at turning my life around. I've been overweight, bullied, tease, depressed and unhappy my whole life and whenever things got hard, I ALWAYS quit. I'll be the first one to admit that and about a month prior to this twelve weeks, I decided that I was over making excuses, not only to myself but to other people and that I had hit absolute rock bottom. At 18 years old, I was wearing size 22 clothes, I was tipping the scales at 120kg and over half of my body was fat.

If You Are Sick Of Starting Over...Stop Quitting

At Body Conquest, most of our readers are go-getters, over-achievers. We want to set goals, map out a plan to achieve them, and make it happen. When it comes to fat loss. it's often not so simple. We often know what we want, but the path to physique change can be a complicated process. There is so much information available about "secrets" to effective fat loss. This leaves us wondering who is right and who is wrong? The frustration lies in the fact that there is no right answer for everyone! What works for your best friend/mum/sister is likely not the best plan for you.

What's The Difference Between Internal And External Accountability?

Why It Doesn't Matter To You What THAT Professional Figure Girl Eats

on Tuesday, 20 November 2012. Posted in All

I remember years ago when I read a lot of fitness and bodybuilding magazines (I don't read them now as they are mostly too fluffy and I know the content inside out anyway), I used to absolutely LOVE the section where the celebrity or fitness model or competitor would reveal their daily meal plan, EXACTLY what they ate.

How To Stay True When You Want Forbidden Foods

How to Stay True When You Want "Forbidden" Food SO Bad?

I love to chat with people who are fresh on a new diet or workout goal; they are energized and ramped with motivation. Then we get a week in the new program and our forbidden foods start to call to us.

What do you do when the foods you designated as "off limits today" is taunting you?

Bring On Those Big Dreams!

on Sunday, 18 November 2012. Posted in All

Sometimes the best things in life are scary.

Most people dream big, set goals, and resolve to do new things in January. I have never been a New Year's Resolutioner.

Novemeber is always a catalyst for change for me.

It is not the 25 to 35 degree temperature range that brings the desire for change, it is my birthday. My birthday is my favorite day of the year

Plyometrics And Home Workout

Plyometrics equal fun!

Think fast, explosive exercises. Remember when you were a kid and jumping, leaping, bouncing, and bounding were just a normal part of your day? These movements are certainly important elements involved in how our bodies were made to move. Kids do this instinctively.

4 Fat Loss Habits to Do Every Single Day

on Friday, 16 November 2012. Posted in All

I always have people ask me, "Ingrid, what is THE most important thing for me to do to lose my body fat?" They ask if they should cut out carbs completely or not eat out at restaurants or be sure to run 5 kilometers every day. No, no no! The most important steps for sustainable fat loss are those that you can do easily forever, and are behaviors that over time are sustainable. Going carb-free forever is not a long-term solution, nor is never eating a restaurant ever again.

Just Do It

Today's blog is a short one, in part because the message is a very simple one, and in part because I should be feeling a bit conflicted by what I am about to write (that I don't feel conflicted in the slightest worries the businesswoman in me, and pleases the trainer who just takes simple delight in helping people achieve their very best). All too often I encounter earnest souls who are suffering from "paralysis by analysis" in their training / fitness / fat loss / muscle building / nutritional regimes. The internet has clearly exacerbated this problem so that with some people it appears to be out of control.
